Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve | Bournemouth | Dorset | BH6 4EN
For the Sat Nav: BH6 4EW
AS PART OF THE ANNUAL NATIONWIDE CELEBRATION OF dragonflies and damselflies a team of British Dragonfly Society volunteers will be resident at the Hengistbury Head Nature Reserve for five days.
Why not come along to the BDS stand near the Reserve’s bird sanctuary? Say hello to the team and hear all about Hengistbury Head’s Dragonfly populations. With patience & sunshine who knows what we’ll see on the wing!
Hengistbury Head runs between Christchurch Harbour and the Channel. It has a variety of wildlife habitats – including ponds – that together form a rich mosaic of ecological interest and importance. BDS members will be on hand providing great ID tips, leading activities for visitors and answering your dragonfly questions.
Bookable Pondside Activities
The residency will be punctuated by a series of free, pondside activities. Places for these are limited and so booking is essential. Please telephone the Visitor Centre Reception Desk on 01202451618 to make your reservation.
